The Comptoir d’Escompte de Paris participates in the share issue for the International Corinth Maritime Canal Company

In 1882, the International Corinth Maritime Canal Company , a French company, is founded to manage the construction of an artificial waterway across the Isthmus of Corinth, in Greece.
The Comptoir d’Escompte de Paris was one of the banks organising the company’s initial public offering and held the lead role in financing this project. This poster invites its clientele to buy shares of the International Corinth Maritime Canal Company .
The initial public offering was extremely successful in France where just 18% of the subscribers obtained more than 10 shares. The subscription was also a grand success in Greece, where the National Bank of Greece found 331 investors.
