1939-1945: BNP Paribas during the war years
2024 marks the beginning of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings and the liberation and reconstruction (1944-1945) of France. The BNP Paribas Group is taking part in the commemorations as a sponsor. Throughout the various remembrance events, Archives & Histoire will revisit the history of this period through a series of publications.
The war and BNP Paribas funds
Archives & Histoire began combing through its archives to write a history of the predecessor banks during World War II and immediate post-war consequences based on the Group’s historical archives.
Discover the history of our predecessor banks which were immersed in the twists and turns of war and understand how the war affected the organisation, work and activities of the banks. The work also highlights the men and women who distinguished themselves. At the same time, learn how the bank reacted, resisted, organised and reorganised.
