This partnership reflects BNP Paribas’ interest in the events that have marked History. Indeed, during the period of the Second World War, the employees of the Group’s ancestor banks had to face unprecedented and often difficult situations.

“The BNP Paribas Group is proud to support Mission Libération in its work of remembrance, preserving the heritage of the Second World War and
passing on this shared history.

It is also an unprecedented opportunity for all of us to rediscover our historical archives on the subject, particularly with the help of the Mission’s Strategic Orientation Committee, and to shed light on those who came before us and built the bank of today.”

A vital role of publicising remembrance

Established under the responsibility of the French Minister of Defence and the Secretary of State for Veterans and Remembrance, the Mission is responsible for organising the 2024 and 2025 commemorative events.

Through the promotion of ceremonies, the Mission values the local actions and themes highlighted for this 80th anniversary of the Liberation.

General Delion, Director General of the Mission Libération, reviewed the process of gathering evidence.
